Shortened Band History
La vie en rose was started in April 1994 by two guitarists Kex2 and Milk, and vocalist Oyaji. At that time they all attended Tsuchira City High School as juniors. In June the bassist, Takeshi joined. The bass guitar he was using was the very same model as Luna Sea's J. In August Oyaji leaves, and a month later the new vocalist, Shinichi joins. In November Kyousuke finds them and persuades the band to allow him to join. He was a student of the same high school and kept bothering Ke2 on every break ['obstinate inducement'], until his temper finally broke the band members and he was allowed to joined as a drummer.
On November 13th they perfomed their first live, hosted in Tsuchira WAVE. By the end of the year they performed three more lives, and on the last one in Mito SENTOPIA, Shinichi left the band. The replacement couldn't be found right away- new vocalist, Yuta, joined in April. By that time they perform 3 lives, and most likely one of them was temporarily on the vocals.
Year 1995 was the year of their first release. First they recorded songs "EAT", "FEAR", "sora no ayatori", and "BLUE", all of wich were featured on the demo tape "in rubbish" that was sold out at Tsuchira WAVE on October 14th, then "tropical hat", "IDLING", "DESPAIR", "DEAR MOON", "rubbish", and re-recorded their song "ENTERNANCE". In November Milk left the band, after a light argument with Kex2, concerning their music's style. After the live in Tsuchira Harem Night on December 24th Takeshi left as well. This time finding new members wasn't a big problem- in January bassist Ken and guitarist Takato join. Ken was previously supporting La vie en rose, gradually splitting up with his band MAD NESS, where he was a guitarist. Takato was "the second super baby faced nice guy" [who's the first one? ;P]. In September 1996 La vie en rose welcomes a new member, a guitarist Kazuki.. He performes one live with the band, and leaves right after. He wasn't even a real member, but the band took it humourously, calling him a windsurfer. [appears and disappears in a blink of an eye- describes his attitude towards school and apparently, towards the band too]. That was the last change among the La vie en rose crew. A funny thing happened on October 27th- they lost the place that was prepared for their live, so in the rash of sudden urge the band crew set them a place on the roof of Tsuchira Restaurant, and they gave a live from up there :)
On December 31th they perform their first live with caligari. Later, they participarted in many lives with this band, including Motayawata Route 14 and Tokyo Basement XFloor Underground Guide live series. On July 31st at Ichikawa CLUB GIO they sold demo tape "Ibaraki Kakumei" limited to 1500 copies. Also in 1997 they recorded songs "Ibaraki DASH", "KANDA Densetsu", "L.S.D", "kasu (tsuzuku)", went on their first mini tour `New Usage Show`, and performed lives with Plastic Tree and Mucc. In 1998 on January 23th they performed their first oneman live, hosted in Shinjuku LOFT. They were welcomed by an 330 people audience, and the tickets were sold out. Caligari's vocalist, Shuuji was their guest vocalist, performing twin vocals for "Ibaraki DASH". That live was the beginning of one man live series, "EpisodeX Chicka-Chicka-One-Man-Man". In 1998 they go on 2 tours, "kaupaa-kun no dai bouken show", and "superMAN invasion tour", release their first album "Hitoshi 1sai ~ 5sai" on August 27th, and finish the year with the New Year's Eve Live in Mito LIGHT HOUSE, co with caligari and Mucc.
Year 1999 was the year of tours- "LIVEEALIVEESURVIVAL,1999@terrestial relief plan this PgLIVEh", "~ 2gALIVEh" and "~ 3gSURVIVALh". In the next year they recorded some new songs, including "attouteki" and went on two tours, "summer tour 2000 -"KACHINOROSHI"". Year 2001 began with Cafe le PSYENCE live in Yokosuka. On May 9th their second album entitled "L MEGA MIX" appeared. The band went on their first tour over Japan- "2001 FIRST TOUR -IBARAFUBUKI-", also two more- "GACHINKO! BATTLE AUTUMN 2001" and "Winter Tour 2001 -A HAPPY NEW GENERATION !!-". In 2002 on October 20th they released their 3rd album, "L STYLE". During the next 2 years, 2002 and 2003, they performed many lives, enclosed in tours "2002 ą NEW GENERATION!! CIRCUIT", "2002 Summer: MISSION TO NEW GENERATION!! ", "Find Out L STYLE" CIRCUIT", "[ PROCESS to : Find Out L STYLE ] CIRCUIT 2003", "[ ReNEW : UNDER GROUND.GARAGE ] TOUR 2003", "Summer Tour 2003 ~GATE OF L FIELD~", and "[VIVA!! L FIELD]" special live series, where every live was followed by VTR handouts. They were performing with bands like mucc, caligari, lab., kalimero, Lolita no. 18, Plastic Tree, y.k. united, iroha, Merii, Anny's Ltd. and guruguru eigakan.
In 2004 La vie en rose experienced a breakdown of their activities, giving only 4 lives [apparently so.. according to their website] including on AIR OSAKA live [with Plastic Tree], in Shibya O-EAST live, wich was the "La vie en rose 10th ANNIVERSARY FESTIVAL [Loading..., V four Exciting Road]", and participating in "SUPER SUMMER JUMBO BUBBLE FESTIVAL" along with SONS OF ALL PUSSYS and Kiyoharu. Whatever the reason for the breakdown was, it is no longer important, because the year 2005 was begun in a very promising way. On February 2nd their 4th album "Barairo no jinsei" was released, and after that follows a tour "TOUR 2005 "fuyu kara hajimaru barairo no jinsei ~ unkounko itteru baai janakattassu!!~"" [rose coloured life begins from winter ~ no more saying it's shit].
